Hurungutun Forum: What is the current activity level in the domestic OTC market?

Gan-Erdene S.: A significant portion of the country's capital market operates within the OTC market. In Mongolia, the reduction in policy rates during 2021, coupled with decreasing savings rates, has spurred demand for high-yield investment instruments, thereby underlining the significance of an active OTC market.

The opening of the OTC market in 2021 has established a legal framework for bond trading, enabling investors to engage in secondary market bond trades, thereby enhancing market competitiveness. In September 2021, Golomt Capital issued Moncon bonds worth 15 billion tugrik on the OTC market. Golomt Capital leads the market by issuing 27 types of bonds totaling 122 billion tugrik out of the 400 billion tugrik in bonds issued by underwriting companies as of July 2022. We anticipate an influx of companies endeavoring to raise capital, thereby contributing to the market's expansion.
